Apple Launches HomeView: A New Smart Home Display With Siri AI

Apple has introduced HomeView, its first dedicated smart home display powered by Apple Intelligence and an upgraded Siri AI. Featuring a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen, A18 chip, and 12MP ultra-wide camera with Center Stage, the device combines home automation, entertainment, video calling, and personalized assistance. With facial recognition for up to six household members, HomeView provides customized dashboards, reminders, and information based on individual preferences.

The upgraded Siri AI makes interactions more conversational, allowing users to ask questions, follow up naturally, and control connected devices using voice commands. With compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhones or iPads, HomeView can access personal context from Messages, Calendar, and Apple Music to deliver more relevant assistance. Users can also enjoy FaceTime, music playback, shared photos, customizable display faces, and intelligent notifications through supported security cameras.

Designed as a central Smart Home Display, Apple HomeView supports Apple Home, Matter, and Thread-compatible accessories, enabling users to manage smart lights, thermostats, door locks, security cameras, and automated blinds. Its privacy-focused features include Secure Exclaves, facial recognition, and protected camera and microphone processing. Available in tabletop and wall-mounted configurations, HomeView starts at $299 in the US, with general availability beginning November 13, 2026. While its personalized AI features and Apple ecosystem integration offer convenience, its premium pricing and limited standalone entertainment apps may influence buying decisions.

Apple HomeView positions itself as a premium household companion for users already invested in Apple's ecosystem. Its combination of intelligent assistance, personalized experiences, and connected-device management could simplify everyday routines. However, its overall value will depend on Siri AI's real-world performance and how frequently households use its shared display. For existing Apple users with compatible smart home accessories, HomeView could become a convenient addition, while users seeking affordable smart displays with broader standalone entertainment options may find competing devices more appealing.
